All Around The World By Anne-Marie Baller

All around the world, wether it is to learn new things or meet new people, travelling changes a person in remarkable ways. For many centuries, people from across the globe have taken interest in travelling. It has been a common experience and oppurtunity for many people. Travelling gives these people the incredible chance to learn new cultures/values/languages, to meet new people and make new friends and memories, and lastly, to realize that not everyone has money, four walls and a roof.

Travelling gives you an ideal oppurtunity to make friends while on vacation. You'll get a chance to meet new friends you wouldn't normally have a chance to talk with. People love to share their vacation tips, and some of them may even be travelling at the same time you are, so it's possible to meet a new friend that way as well. It's a simple fact of life that people do need other people, and even the  most independant of solo traveller knows that they need company every now and again. If you're not used to travelling, making friends on the road can be a very alien concept and seeming impossible before you set out on your trip. However with more experience and confidence building up as you go, meeting new people alone isn't actually as hard as it sounds. Give yourself a little push each day to talk with someone new, and before you know it, you'll have friends all over the world.

Being immersed in an entirley new cultural setting is scary at first, but it's also exciting. It's an opputunity to discover new strenghts  and abilities, conquer new challenges, and solve new problems. You will encounter situations that are completely unfamiliar to you and will learn to adapt and respond in effective ways. People who travel world-wide return home with an informed and much less biased perspective toward other cultures and values. Eventually you will develope the ability to function in the new culture and adapt with a whole new level of values. Your sense of "foreingness" diminishes significantly, and not only will you be more comfortable with the different cultures, but you may also feel part of it. So go there with an open mind, be prepared to change, and make most of this experience.

Use of Cursive by Colt McClaskin

Cursive writing useful or pointless? Cursive writing is pointless because some people never got good at it because it was too hard or it just wasn't their type of hand writing. Cursive is a difficult method of hand writing for most people. To support my opinion my three arguments are: I was never good at it, never used it and we learned it at such a young age.

I found that cus I've writing wad too difficult. I felt like I was leaning a whole new alphabet. I also found that cursive writing makes everything look all cramped together and some of the letters make the word look longer then in normal writing. Cursive writing makes some of the letters look a lot different then they normally do. For me this made reating cursive very difficult for me. I was also not very good at reading it because it was never doubled space and all the loops made the words mash together and made it look sloppy. When learning cursive it always took me a lot longer too write then it did in noreal writing.

We learned curive writing too young. In my opinion we learned to write and read cursive at such a young age. When learning cucursive I found it extremely boring. I found it boring because I feel like we didn't learn it properly and that we were just repeating the same thing every time. Considering the fact it was boring and that we were young. When. Learning cursive it was hard to consenitrate. Until this day I still don't use cursive writing. Being so young I find that kids didn't really care about learning this syle of hand writing. I think thay didn't care because they already new how to write. Also because it was borin, they they weren't good at it. So I think we should have learned to write cursive an older age.

In conclusion, some schools teach kids cursive but there are lots of people who don't even use it. So sgould schools stop teaching cursive? I think schools should stop teaching cursive writing. Not a lot of people got good at itor use it and  we learned it at such a young age. So schools should stop teaching cus I've writing.

Why does any of this matter by Renaud Boucher

All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Do you care about what is happening in Ukrain, Russia, Sudan or Nigeria? Too many people aren't looking around. They keep running on their track not acknowledging what happens around them. Both from close or far. As said a ripple in the pond affects us all.

First things first, Debts. Everyone has some, some are bigger then others. Like the US's maybe. Did you know that the US has the biggest debt in the world. $17,997,889,181.20. Yep that's a lot of cash they owe to other countries. What do you think might happen if they we're asked to pay those back now, I think it wouldn't end well, don't you. The US can't, it's just too much to pay back. Other countries would start fighting against them to get their money back. that would end the world very quikly now. living in Canada i dont see how any of this would be good for me and my family. Open your eyed and see the world as it really is people.

Now do you have any idea what is happening in Ukrain and Russia right now? Probably not, well if a war was to erupt between these two contries many others will be forced to chose sides and many contries will choose. I don't know about you but, a whole bunch of contries fighting doesn't end well in general. Something I say is, "What I know is that the 3rd world war will be fought with bombs, and the 4th will be fought with sticks and stones." So doyou reallythink its worth it now?

Tomorow any of this could happen so look around, dont stick to the track. It's easy to do just have a go at it see whats around. Inform yourself what harm could it do you, but protect you? I really think it;s worth the try. Now go run in the woods will you.

The Affects Of Travling By Alex R.

Traveling is a great way to discover new people, places, sports and yourself. Traveling can make lifetime memories with you and your family. I have already traveled to many different places. my last trip brought me and my brother closer to each other because we had to stay together the whole time.

Traveling is a great way to discover new passions or a new sport. for Instance, if you travel to Hawaii, you could try surfing. Or, if you travel to Ireland you could watch a hurling match, which is there national sport and resembles a mix of lacrosse and hockey. Another benefit to travel would be learning new passion or new interests. this is because when you travel, you are in a new environment and as a result, you see and try new things. who knows what impact a single trip could have on your future choices? for example, a student might realize what he/she wants to study in university and an adult could even discover a new job opportunity. Traveling is great because you don't know how a trip can influence what you like until you experience it. These new things you have learned during your trip can greatly influence your future.

Another way traveling affects you is that it can bring people closer to each other like friends and family members. For example, the last trip I did brought me and my brother closer to one another because we couldn't go far from each other since we were on a ship. because of this trip, me and my brother get along better then before. another way trailing bring you and your friends closer would be by doing activities together or just passing time talking or even competing against one another. This doesn't mean you have to travel to strengthen your relationship but it can increase the chances of you getting to know them better.

In conclusion, there many positive reasons to travel like learning new things like sports or hobbies. Traveling can also bring families and friends closer to each other. In the future, I hope I will continue to travel. How did traveling affect you.

Its so Annoying by Charles Belanger

There are so many things I cant stand, for example people kicking my chair while I'm sitting on it or chewing gum with their mouths opened. There are many things people are annoyed about. Being annoyed can be worst enemy in a way. You get mad easily, you say something without thinking and BOOM! You just did something that got you in trouble cause you were to mad to think twice before you acted. Just because you found what  the person did was annoying for you.
Firstly I think being annoyed is the weakest form of anger. getting mad because your friend hit in the is normal but getting mad because of the creaking that your door makes isn't normal. it is not a reason to get mad at someone. this is why I think it is the weakest form of anger. it is like if you were born to be annoyed by specific things and you cant keep yourself from getting mad at those small things. even scientists say that being annoyed is the weakest form of anger. To give you the proof of this ill tell you what to do: do something that annoys your friend and you will see he'll get mad easily.
Now this brings me to my second topic which the unpleasant feeling you have when you get mad by being annoyed. you kinda feel this strange feel in your stomach a ticklish feeling that your gonna explode and hit someone right in the face and this
strange feeling will fade away. This means this feeling you have is so annoying that you want to get rid of it. for me that's what I know. I get this strange feeling of tickling feeling in my stomach and at the same time I'm mad and get rid of it I have to hit something or scream. This is why people get mad because of this accumulation of this strange feeling inside and they just want to get rid of it. this is why some people can have anger issues because of this strange feeling cause they don't like it.
then my third topic is being annoyed is a way of torturing. Now you may think what I'm saying is stupid but have you ever seen your friend so annoyed that he just goes berserk. In the olden days people would use this torturing method that would drop a single drop of water on your head and you would get so annoyed by it that it would drive you crazy. I can also say your torturing your own self cause your so annoyed that you cant think of something else except that chair rocking back and forth. this keeps you from working because you cant get you eyes and ears off of the rocking chair.
In conclusion being annoyed is annoying. to be annoyed is annoying. Its a weak form of madness and can get to do things you can regret later on in the day. For me I hate being annoyed I want to get rid of it as fast as possible. I think is that everything can annoy you, even a grain of sand can annoy you.

I hate that feeling! So annoying... By Matthias Khasa

Have you ever woke up one morning and you felt like staying in your bed and get some rest for once, wished school didn't exist so you could properly sleep. Or one nice day you are having a pick nick with family, friends, etc, though you can't properly enjoy it because there are flies swarming over your food and you constantly keep swapping them which causes you to get angrier and angrier. That feeling that gets you pissed but not enough to hurt anyone or anything on the first shot, is annoyance. It is actually very common, I have already felt annoyance, everyone has and it is real annoying.

Describing annoyance is a persistent challenge, even researchers have trouble finding it. I understand that because everyone can have their own personal opinion on what annoyance is. Though everyone knows what you mean when you say annoying because everyone has already experienced it. I believe it depends on the certain individual, sometimes the species and others like bugs that bite are reasons for annoyance. So it totally depends, my opinion about it is that it is very bugging, like a constant clock ticking, a baby crying, or having to repeat yourself to someone.

I hate being annoyed, I will never know when it'll start or end. It might be caused during the worst occasions and might last from seconds to minutes to hours and sometimes maybe even more. What a strange emotion! I wished it never existed and yes I hate it that much. Seriously it is the worst emotion that ever existed. Hopefully what I find positive about annoyance is that it is not harmful or dangerous, it is plain annoying though the constant presence of annoyance might channel something that is dangerous.

Annoyance is not a good thing. Some people really can't tolerate it and start to freak out. It is best explained as the weakest form of anger in my opinion because you are angry but not enough to hurt anyone. Simply diluted rage. But if it continues to bug you annoyance could transform into something a little worst causing a violent action depending on the situation.

Annoyance, a strange emotion of diluted rage that provokes you and it can last for a very long period when occurred. I think annoyance is a emotion that makes people react in a negative way.

I Just Feel Like Sleeping! By Bastien Dionne

Imagine waking up in a hurry every morning and feeling really tired. You take the bus and arrive at school, once in class your teacher ask's you where's your homework. Homework does not help students in school. We get way too muck homework. Some teachers give them every class when we already have some pilling up due for the next day. Homework only makes people stressed to go to school and makes students go to bed late at night.

First, Homework makes students stressed for school. We forget to do our homework the night before and only think about it in the morning but it's too late to do it. Some students start getting scared, not wanting to get into trouble. Stress is not something good for the human body and homework is on of the factor causing it. Teachers gives you detentions and then you get even more in trouble at home. Some students gets stressed when playing sports on week days. They're at their hockey game and suddenly start wondering if they will have time to finish their homework once at home. They think too much about finishing their homework on time and end up playing a bad game.

Teachers always say that their students look tired and sleepy but do not realize that it's because of the homework they're giving. Homework makes people go to sleep late at night. School is not our only priority in life, we have friends, families, sports ect... When we get home from 7 hours of school , we don't want to do our homework, we want to do things we enjoy doing. After supper for example, skating is really fun. When you get back home, it's already 9 p.m and you haven't started your homework yet. It gets finally but its not 11 p.m and you have to wake up at 6 o'clock the next morning. Seven hours of sleep is not a lot for a teenager.

If you accumulate all the school days a student gets 7 hours of sleep, he gets exactly 52.5 days sleeping. A teenager in average should get 9 hours minimum of sleep per day, which is 67.5 days sleeping for the same amount of days. Homework basically takes away 15 days of sleep per school year. Now it makes sense why we feel tired all the time. Homework does not help in school. It only makes your grades go down and gets you into trouble. It makes you go to sleep late at night and makes students stressed to go to school. Teachers... if you want us to pass your courses or you are willing to help us, reduce the amount of homework because it is not useful.

Your Virtual Life By Serynah Moreau

Have you ever stoped for a moment and thought about the modern culture your living in. If you did, you would see its not that great. With all the social networks we don't talk face to face with friends anymore. We send texts or emails and that makes less bounding time. Basically we are living a double life and the virtual one is starting to take over! Some of these reasons is because we are too much on our phones and not spending enough time with our love ones.

38% of collage students cannot go 10 minutes with out checking their emails, tablet or smart phone. Yes, it can be an advantage for students that have special needs but it can still distract them with all the notifications and apps. If you are at a family dinner and you put yout phone on vibrate and notice it, well you will want to see what is was. If it was a message or missed call you would leave the table to call them or even text them at the table. That's just rude for the others.

With all that sharing your life online, you're not disconnecting from your social media. Yes it's okay time to time to be on your device. Too much time on it can stop your social interference with your close ones. Some close ones are not there forever so get out and spend time with them. "Family is not an important thing it's everything" -Michael J.fox once said.

Students and teens don't spend enough time away from their phones. Technology changed the way we live, not all in a good way. Now you see we need to change this but how? That's where you can help! Even just by putting your phone away for a day, go outside with friends or even just help a neighbor or a family member.

Eat. Sleep. Cheer. Repeat. By Chloe V.

Cheerleading is more than just standing on a sideline shaking pom-poms and hollering"GO TEAM, GO!" It is physically demanding , involves competitions as well as teamwork. An important question has arisen in the world of sports and it is time to speak about the true facts. Is cheerleading a sport? Yes it is!

Firstly cheerleading takes a lot of physical fitness, talent, determination, training and guts. Cheerleading has evolved a lot during the years and is starting to get compared to gymnastics. Speaking about training I mean hard and intensive working out, failure, patience and even sometimes bad injuries. Cheerleaders have to get thrown into the air, make routines on mats including many stunts, difficult movements as well as pyramids. To do that they have to practice and practice.Isn't that what a sport is all about? Then talking about guts,it's not everyone who desires to get thrown into the air but those who do want can risk bad injuries if things go wrong.Wasn't a sport supposed to challenge you ?

Secondly, the goal of a sport is not only to be better than you used to be but also to face oponents in serious competitions while developing sportsmanship and teamspirit. When you compete against other teams, training can be really stressful and requires a whole lot of time. Of course, practice makes perfect! During competitions you get judged on your techniques, stunts, elegance and many other criterias just like many other sports. In order for those events to be successful, teamwork has to be present in each and every team member. " You mess with a cheerleader, you mess with her whole squad!" This saying says it all. Cheerleaders are sisters who develop team spirit and sportsmanship as they have to trust each other.

To conclude, cheerleading is a sport because it is physically demanding, requires teamwork and involves competitions. If you still think it is not a sport well trust me... You don't know what you're
in for !

Modern Day Culture is a Benefit or a Letdown by Charles-Xavier DoyonBarrieau

According to world society, 97% of children play video games and half of this percentage have great problems of communication and interacting with society. Those video games are ruining society's youth which could make the upcoming générations worse. Modern day culture is ruining today's generations and the upcoming ones. They are ruined by both video games and today's junk food. I will explain this whole situation by the inside out.
Firstly, modern day culture is ruining childhood by the intoduction of video games. The youth today have a hard time to communicate without using technology, because they think it is something they take for granted. In fact, it is kind of the technology that takes the youth for granted; kind of brainwashing them.Taking the first example; 97% of children play video games and half can not control and communicate with others without technology. That is half of children getting ready to lose a great part of life with this always on their minds.  Imagine if a huge worldwide breakdown and no more technology can be used for one week. Personally, people would go nuts and start fighting and revolting against this hazard. People that are hardcore gamers need to learn to think outside of the box and not about video games.

Secondly, today's youth is affected  by obeisity with all the junk food they eat. If you thought technology was a big issue, guess again. Obeisity has been one of the biggest impact on today's youth because of the modern culture food; junk food. For each children in the world today, here is a 50% chance of every kid when they are or to be obese or not. This percentage is so high that it has been affecting people for years and years and generations through generations. This problem is now targeting the youth generation and upcoming ones. If you think obeisity is only affected by the food; that's not right either because laziness, not doing sports and video games are also making it worse.  Even if you eat really well on a daily basis, you can still become obese because you might not do sports for example. The youth is also influenced by others to do the same which could make you obese. Youth like to be influenced by others but need to be influenced for the right things and not the bad ones.

In conclusion, today's modern day culture is affecting our youth and upcoming youth generations. They are affected by both video games (technology in bigger format) and obeisity. If we look at  today's percentages of youth affected by these two problems, our future is not looking too promising. This can change in a matter of weeks or months but the condition is to change and be able to live with them and in a respectable way. Respecting this condition will guarantee a great future for people and the next generations of youth.

Famille.Family.Familia. By: Marie-Eve C.

"Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgitten."-Lilo & Stich. This is a Lilo & Stich definition of family. In the movie they had up and downs but did everything to stay togethet and not exclude one another. Yet, it is only one of the million definitions that family could mean. You'll see in this blog, definitions of family and my personal opinion.

Like in the Movie Lilo & Stich, they say this quote, "This is my family. I found it all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good." This is a meaningful quote because families are like that, they aren't perfect and in fact, no family really is! They are your family and are good enough for you. Sometimes a sibling or your parents may annoy you but at the end of the day you're all there for each other. You could also take the dictionnary definition, to define the word family. The definition is "parents and their children, considered as a group, wether dwelling together or not", the "traditional" family. But I don't approve this definition.
My definition of family isn't really the dictionnary one. Family isn't always composed of a mom, a dad, a sister, a brother and a dog like the family is usually seen as. Now a days, we have lots of different families like; seperated, monoparental, reconstitute, adopted and many more. In my words, it is the people who take care of you in all situations and give you the best they can for you. Yet, I know some family aren't the same, aren't treated the same, or ain't living in the same lifestyles of others. So, I understand this may affect how people define the word "family". Some people may say that they have no family, but friends can also be family.

But as long as you have parents, siblings or friends who mean a lot for you and take care of you, then you might as well say that they are your family. It isn't always the blood who mean the word "family". If you take for example, adoption, they don't have the same genes but still love each other. In this blog you saw few of the millions of definitions of family, do you see family differently? Or understand that not everybody defines family the same way?

Cheerleading, One of the Toughest Sports? By Amelia F.

.
Try lifting a person with just your two arms, or stand up 10 feet in the air with only one pair of hands holding only one of your legs and your other leg up. Try all of this and tell me cheerleading is not a sport. Cheerleading is a physical activity for a specific sports team motivation based on routines. The routines contain tumbling, dance, jumps and cheers. Cheerleading is a sport because you not only need physical strength, mental strength, but you also need a ton of balance.

Cheerleading is a sport for many reasons. First of all, for all the physical strength involved. Every cheerleading teams must do very intense warm ups before getting started. Some examples of warm ups they do is push-ups, different kinds of jumps, running and many more! When doing their dance routines, cheerleaders need to be very strong especially if they are the base (the person who lifts and catches people) because they need to hold the weight of a person. In other cases, they need to push their own weights up while they are performing jumps. Finally, cheerleaders need a lot of muscles to execute the tumblings they do such as back flips, front flips, etc.

Another reason why cheerleading is a sport is because of all the mental strength needed. Indeed, Cheerleaders (especially flyers) need very high mental strength (confidence). They need a lot of confidence in their partners since they constantly get thrown and catched in the air. Imagine the stress of getting thrown in the air and not being sure if someone will catch you well. This also puts a lot of pressure on the bases because they know that if a flyer falls and is badly hurt, it is most likely their fault. Lastly, you must be confident in your capacities before going on stage. Even if you have the physical strength and good techniques, you still have a lot of pressure on you.

The least reason why cheerleading is a sport is because you need a ton of balance. Cheerleaders constantly have one leg up in the air which requires the body to be very equal. Another example is the flyer. This person who is getting hold by one leg must stay straight and sturdy or else she/he could get badly hurt. To wrap it up, cheerleading in general requires a lot of balance since their is a lot of range in movements.

In conclusion, people who say cheerleading is not a sport obviously have never done cheerleading before or just do not want to admit that a sport most girls do is actually a sport. Cheerleading requires good physical strength, mental strength and balance. So, if you are searching for a great sport that keeps you in shape, you are very competitive, you are not scared of heights and you are strong, try cheerleading! But remember to be cautious!

should we care about events in other parts of the world by lenny

Everyday on the news weather its on t.v., the newspaper, online, magazines...etc. we constantly see major events going on in other parts of the world. topics like the weather(natural disasters), politics, religion, sports, wars/manifestations and so on, should it matter to us? my answer is yes, because we can be informed, we can know if something will affect areas nearby and if we want to do something to make a change.

we should care about events in other countries because what happens over there can affect us some way over here because it will be all over the news. the weather is a perfect example because we can make sure if a disaster happens to be prepared and to know what is coming or what other places will be affected by it. the news is there to alert us and for us to know precisely the good information.

I is also important because a lot of people travel, and by looking on the news for current events where they will be travelling will inform them and possibly change their decision because of things such as a disease or war and the only way to know for sure is because we have all this information in our face and is given whenever something big happens.

Lastly, most of the time we see companies that ask for donations to help people around the world and the images we see can affect some people more than others and that will give them the idea to do the same thing and help people. because these events happen and are shown to us it can really help them out and get them out of their horrible living conditions because of us that are watching them go through it with our media.

In conclusion, it is very important to know, care and value the fact that we have all these resources to be informed about current events around the world.

No More Homework by William Daigle

Homework is isn't of help at all, all it does is that it adds more stress to the students. I recently learned by doing some research that says that a lot of the assigned homework is pointless busy work that doesn't help us student's learning at all. It stops some students to do sports/extracurricular activities and it creates too much stress.

Home work is useless, it doesn't help students learning. O.k for example I'm a student who does history homework, when it comes to tests anything we did in our homework has nothing to do with the test I find it useless all I do is read and answer questions nothing else. So like I said homework will rarely come to help. That also goes for other subjects. If you do your homework and you have no clue what do it won't help the best thing to do to help your learning is to go to remedial at lunch or in the morning. It is not homework who is suppose to help you learn that's your teachers job. Homework is useless busy work.

Homework also prevents student athletes do to sports because they have a ton of homework to do and their parents stop them to go to a practice are a game or even from doing a sport/ extracurricular activities because they believe that their child should put more focus on school. Also it adds a lot of stress because one night they had a game and also had a lot of homework to do and some don't do it and some have to stay up late and in both cases it creates stress which can lead to lower grades and in some cases depression or worse. So like I've said homework is pointless busy work and creates stress.

Like you read previously and I've said several times it creates a lot and I say a lot of stress to students. Studies show that yes some students who were to stressed about school and their overload of homework can suffer from depression. People know that depression some times lead to suicides. Some students can die by a suicide because they could support the weight that was put on their back so they decide to kill their selves. So teachers, schools, etc no more homework it leads to deaths in severe cases. It also leads to lower grades because sometimes their homework is graded.

By the end you must understand my point. It is pointless busy work, it prevents students to do sports or extra curricular activities. Also it adds too much stress and it can lead to depression. Students should not have to do school work at home when us students we come home we don't want to do homework we are at home when we are done at school we shouldn't have to do more school work. So I say teachers please no more homework.

The Art Of Cherrleading By Heidi Savard

Cheerleading isn't only about throwing girls in the air or swinging pompoms. Its about team work, spirit. Its a passion where dance and gymnastics are combined and makes a difference in a life. Waiting to be caught is probably the most harsh feeling. Cheerleaders need to get to know each other, they are like family. They stick together, have each others back and need to trust one another. But sadly it's still not considered a sport.

I agree with the fact that cheerleading is a sport. Not only is it a sport but its takes guts and talent. Cheerleaders get thrown in the air and have to trust to b e caught. Football players runs a few yards while cheerleaders go through mental and physical pain while learning there cheers (learned from experience ). They have to meet requirements to cheer. it involves a lot of conditions, practicing and a lot of athletic abilities. Dance and gymnastics are considered sports but cheerleading consist of dancing and gymnastics, so why shouldn't it be considered a sport?

Just because cheerleaders cheer for another sport doesn't mean it can't be a sport... There are several hours of work cheerleaders do to prepare for things like games or competitions. They need inspiration and creativity for all their cheers and everything. Cheerleading is under appreciated, in my opinion! Stretching and jumping is not only thing they do. They jump, tumble, stunt, compete, spirit, cheer...! I think cheerleaders risk a lot while practicing the sport because there are several ways they could get injured. Being in sport usually means that you are part of a team, and since cheerleading that's needs to interact 100% with their team mates... There is no possible way it can be refused as a sport. Overall cheerleaders put a lot of effort, hard work and dedication in what they do and think they deserve more credit for it!

There is no reason why cheerleading shouldn't be considered a sport. They have all the criteria as any other sports, they need to be fit, practice, etc. Its not fair for us and it s definitely not faire for them not to be called a sport... They work so hard and do amazing things. I would say with no doubts that cheerleading is a sport. Here is a video of cheerleading competitions

Twins and Names by Annie.C

Annoying things are all part of our daily life. There are some bothering things though that normally do not annoy certain people... My name is Annie and I have a twin named Florence. E-ve-ry single day someone mistakes me for my twin. At the end of my classes at school, usually it really starts to get on my nerves. It might not sound like a lot but it's very annoying. First of all we do not even look alike and people all have different opinions on how we look. Secondly, every time I get called " Florence", the person and myself always get very confused.

Firstly, Florence and I are not identical twins! The problem with people is that they seem to think that: our hair is the same, our face is the same, our height, style and even our laughs are identical for them! What annoys me the most though is that they believe that our attitudes are the same too. No not everyone is annoying like that but the majority of people are. Yet, our differences are right in front of them! My hair is brown hers are golden auburn, my eyes are blue hers are grey/green, I am also way taller than her. Our attitudes our completely different too. We're both funny girls, but Florence loves rude sports and arts like drawing and paint. I dislike arts but don't mind watching her draw with her skillful talent of comic drawings. I don't like rude sports but I'm in love running which she hates. So when people ask me :" Florence, why weren't you at your rugby practice last Monday?" Guess what? You guessed the wrong name. That's another thing also, people guess our names. I might as well write my name on a cardboard and glue it on my forehead.

The next thing that annoys me when people call me by the wrong name, is that it's not only them getting confused but also me! Every time someone calls me by the wrong name, I never turn around because obviously I think they're calling to someone else. They usually ask themselves what's wrong with me before coming over to ask if I'm deaf. Then, I'm just wondering why they are talking to me about my rugby game, before realizing they mean my sister. A girl was already scared by me and my twin by seeing the " same person" in a room that my twin had just left. Turns out that person was me. She told me she thought I was teleporting or something. For a second there I got very mixed up.

In conclusion, I get very annoyed and confused almost everytime someone calls me by m sister's name,Florence. Why? People don't seem to realized that we are not one bit alike from the bottom to the top. Also, the poor person that is unfortunate enough to call me or my sister by the wrong name ends up getting very confused ans so do I. Trust me there are some advantages on people getting mixed up with your names and appearances. We used to exchange places in class. There's unfortunaly some disadvantages too. Nexttime you see  twin and accidently call her by the wrong name, at least you can think of this blog and have a big laugh about it. Because yes, sometimes it can be  funny and surprising. Sometimes I joke about it and say:'' I'm lucky, I have a mirror following me everywhere I go!''.

ARE VIDEOGAMES REALLY BAD? by Kevin.l

Today our parents and grand-parents tell us that videogames
are really bad for our learning capacity and for our Health. But I have some fact' to prove them Wrong.

A recent study conducted in the United Kingdom concluded that Playing video games does not lead to long-term behavioral problem like attention deficit disorder or depression. The University of Glasgow survey was bases on the observation of thousands of mothers Who tracked the behavior of their children over time. scientists wanted to Know if there was a valid Link between the amont of time spent gaming and the development of emotional maturity and Healthy intellectual advancement.
The study focused on the impact of video games and télévision on 11,000 children-and whether exposure to gaming could eventually lead to battles with anger, depression and etc...Rechearchers were curious if games may have more powerful effect's due to active user engagement indentification with characters and repeated rehearsal and reinforcment.
The outcome of the study found that regular exposure to videogames
had virtually no effect on the behavior of participents. However, viewing three or more hours of television per day at the age of five did lead to a minor increase in behavioral problem in children age 5 to 7 regardless of gender.

For example the popular video game minecraft, a game where the player can use his or her imagination to create what ever comes in there heads by simply placing blocks on creative or try to survive by gattering resources on survival.

Or there are games where you need to use logic and strategie to accomplish your goal like the Ubisoft game Assassin Creed. It can make a gamers reflexes and technique get better. It can also get your thinking capacity higher by solving mystery and murders.
But there are even more games that can help the player get better strategy ,reflexes and memory like portal, Fnaf, call of duty, etc. Feal free to go search the games.
By gaming online with people around the world you can socialize with people from other cultures and race and become friends.
There are some videogames that the remote is your body and you need to move and jump around which can get you healthy while playing video like on the wii,X-box and the PlayStation.

Videogames can help gamers improve their learning,
        reflexes,memoires,thinking and also physical capacity.
So after all are videogames really bad for our health or a simple rumor someone
Invented.

Limiting Speech is Limiting Freedom Médéric Audet-Chalifour

Everybody is different.  Everybody has their own opinions, thoughts, and beliefs, they vary from person to person.  Should one persons beliefs be discounted or prohibited because it offends someone else?  No!  Controversies over the freedom of speech have erupted all around the globe.  First of all the freedom of speech is protected in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  Being terminated or punished for speaking your mind should not be a crime in a country where we are free of doing so.  Limiting speech is limiting freedom!

First of all, freedom of speech is protected as a fundamental freedom by section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  Since April 17, 1982 people living in Canada were legally authorized to criticize subjects and let others hear their opinion without being punished.  According to the law, we are free to express how we feel about sensible topics.  If freedom of speech would not exist how could we know the opposing arguments?  How could a prime minister or president know if his people do not agree with his actions?  How could a country progress without new ideas or other solutions to what has already been proposed?

Secondly, speaking your mind should not be a crime.  There have been many reports of people all over the country being fired over posts on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.  Being terminated or suspended for exposing your opinion should not be allowed in a country who's charter of rights contains the freedom of speech and expression.  People are expected to act professionally when they are in the workplace.  When an employee is on his/her personal time their words should not be used as grounds for punishment.  Take the Eagles gate operator as an example.  He was fired after publishing a post on Facebook about not agreeing with one of the team managements decisions, he later deleted that post.  His thoughts had nothing to do with him not doing his job correctly.  We should not be terminated because we privately disagree with our superiors decisions.

To finish off, think about what limiting speech would create in this society.  First of all because the freedom of speech is protected in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.  Being terminated or punished should not be a crime in a country where we are free of doing so.  Limiting speech is limiting freedom.  If we are not free to express our feelings, then what makes our working conditions different to a slave who must stick with what his owner says?  Limiting the freedom of speech would create a lot of violence.  People would be unable to speak about their disagreements so instead they would act.  They would rebel against the government for one single reason.  To have their voices heard!

Homework: A Useless Piece Of Work! By:Olivier Cloutier

Imagine going outside after school having fun without worrying about homework, wouldn't that be fun? Many years of research has been done to figure out if homework helps students learn. What a waste of time! Homework does not help students learn, it stresses kids out and makes them bored after school. Why should they suffer the consequences of writing on a useless piece of paper?

Firstly, many students around the world are stressed after school because they know they have way too much homework and they know that they will never be able to finish it on time. In fact 56 percent of students consider homework as a primary stressor, and less than 1 percent of the students said that homework was not a stressor. A good quantity of homework has been adopted in Finland. Schoolchildren were given just 30 minutes  per night to spend on homework and none on at weekends. So the students were stress free and scored highly in their grades.

Lastly, homework does not let students have fun after school. Students have way too much homework, they can't do anything else! All they do when they come home is do their homework, take their showers and then go to sleep. That's not how students should live their lives. Teachers need to understand that students have other things to do at home, such as: church, activities, sports, jobs, family things, etc... How are students supposed to live creative and social lives when they have to do hours and hours of homework everyday. Don't you think they do enough at school?

In conclusion, homework is useless! Students have been doing homework all their lives can't you teachers give them a break? Homework stresses students and it does not let students have fun after school. By 1960, a reviewer tracked down 17 experimental studies, most of which suggested that homework made no difference at all. So teachers, why are you giving students homework, don't you see it is useless?

Cursive Writing by Felix P.

Kids need to keep learning cursive. Cursive is taught less and less through out school. Historical documents were mostly written in cursive so the documents cannot be read if you can't read in cursive. I think that cursive is neater than normal writing when it comes to letters.

Mr. Brant says that a connection to archival material is lost when students stop learning cursive. Historical documents were mostly written in cursive.

I think that cursive writing is way neater than normal letters. Cursive is hard to learn but once you know it, you need to practice it or else you lose it. It's like a language, you need to practice it by reading or writing or else you lose it.

In conclusion, cursive writing is taught less and less in schools. Historical documents were mostly written in cursive and when it comes to neatness, I think that cursive writing is better than normal letters. Do you really want to lose the art of cursive writing?

Is Our Generation More Narcissistic than Previous Ones? by Emilie Grenon

70 % of students score higher on narcissism and lower on empathy than did the average student 30 years ago. Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a mental disorder. People with this disorder will think very highly of themselves, will not value their relationships with others, will lack empathy towards others and so on. Some reasons why our generation is more prone to narcissism than ever could be because most trending music lyrics tend to be about self-admiration, or it could also be because people are constantly told that they are unique and special beginning at a very young age which influences narcissistic behaviour.

Music greatly influences narcissistic behaviour. Popular songs will often be about  "Me, Myself, and I" and how the person admires their beauty and perfection or how they are better than everyone. Ex: The song "I'm Sexy and I Know It" by LMFAO which everyone was listening to a few years ago, sends a very narcissistic message. When people listen to such music, they may think it's normal to admire themselves to this high of a level. They can start to have a very self-absorbed way of thinking.

Another factor which influences narcissism is that, starting from a very young age, people are taught that they are very special, unique, beautiful etc. Ex: Awarding someone for participation in an activity even though they've put no more effort in the activity than simply participate. The award makes them believe that they've done something of the sort which can make them feel overly special or better than others. This causes narcissism starting at a very young age.

To sum things up, our generation is the most narcissistic generation that's ever been. Young people constantly complemented and told they are unique and people listening to narcissistic music have lead to a higher rate of narcissists in our generation. People should stop looking at the world through a mirror if they want narcissism to stop spreading.
