A Fashion Tip By: Jennifer St-Pierre

Do you think fashion is important? Most of you like fashion more than anything in the world, but fashion should have less importance for people. Fashion is just a way of spending your money and it can effect teenagers around you. It's less important than other things, like a shelter or a bill too. Fashion can sometimes give the wrong impression on some teenagers.

Some people around us are so into fashion they don't realize that they are spending all their money and it can effect them more than they think. Imagine that you bought three shirts and two pairs of jeans who are on the top of the fashion line. It costs you more than 500 dollars (depending the kind). You use your collage money that you were saving for later. You expected to go to collage, but since you spent your money you have trouble paying your collage and you can't go just because of  the fashion clothes you bought. When you think about it, you don't want to end up in your parent's basement your whole life.

Fashion clothes and normal clothes the same, but some people don't think that. some teenagers judge other teenagers on what they wear. For example, if you see a teen on the street wearing clothes that was in fashion 5 years ago, would you judge? A lot of teenagers judge people by their looks and that leads to bullying. Some students wear fashion clothes to look cool, but it can give the wrong impression. You might hate the clothes and you want to wear something that you'd like instead, to be like the others that get bullied or judge, to be yourself. Fashion clothes and normal clothes are not different, it is just a way to have popularity and to have less chance of getting bullied.

There is a lot of fashion clothes that cost a lot of money. There is a big difference in fashion prices and normal prices. They might have sales, but it's still a lot of money. Sometimes it in not the same quality, your style of clothing is the best. You don't have to worry about the design or the fabric that is used, if you buy normal clothes it's easier.

In conclusion do you think fashion is important to you? remember that fashion can effect you teens, students, other and young adults. Between fashion clothes and normal clothes there is a big difference. Remember before spending your money on fashion articles remember to think about your future, if it is really important for you and make sure to always be yourself.

Athletes Deserve Their Money by: David T.

They are your idols, they shape the way you grow up. They are paid millions a year to entertain and play the sport that they love. Professional athletes aren't overpaid, they deserve the money they get. They work hard to get where they want to be. Their jobs are not easy. Their job involves a certain risk, injuries are common in almost every kind of sport. They are paid to entertain an audience. People pay big money to go watch them, their is no reason for them to make a small amount of money. Professional athletes are paid a fair amount for what they actually do.

Firstly, looking at a professional hockey player or a professional football player, what may come to mind is money. Our generation tries to find ways to make money easily because we are too lazy to work hard. Professional athletes are a proof of the complete opposite. They make a large amount of money but they give so much work into it. They work 6-7 days a week to reach the goal they most want in life. They want to reach the top. They are the most hard working people you may ever meet. It take's a lot of concentration and will power to achieve a goal that is as hard as becoming a professional athlete. There is no such thing as sitting on a couch for a professional athlete, they are always working hard because that's what their job is all about.

Secondly, if your look at football or hockey, they are sports that involve contact, checking and hitting the opponent. They involve great risk. Every play they make in football or every time they are on the ice during hockey, they may be injured. A hard check, tackle or both could end a career or even a life in extreme cases. Since athletes are paid so much, they are sure to have money when their career is done or when their physical state won't allow them to go anywhere further. The amount of money they make ensures that they can live all their life without having to work. The risk of playing football is high, one hit and you can break an arm, a leg and can have permanent damage to your brain. If they wouldn't have that much money, less people would play, they don't want to risk their life because of one tackle. They are paid high due to the amount of risk involved.

Thirdly, the cost fans pay to go see them play is high, therefore they make a lot of money and can pay their players more. As an example, in the NFL the lowest ticket price is 109$ to go see the Cleveland Browns. This cost is already petty high. The highest price is the Chicago Bears with an average of 446$ per ticket. With the amount of people going to see every game, no wonder the players are payed so high. The team had the money for it. Athletes are paid a lot of money but don't need to play long. NFL teams have so much money, they put it in the right place for them to have good players playing for them and that they stay there all their career.

In conclusion, professional athletes are not paid too much for the job they are doing. They work hard to get where they want to get in life as a professional athlete. Any minute while doing their job, they can be injured and can end their career, it take's only one hit. The players are paid to do their job and make the people in the audience happy and entertained. Looking back, they all connect together. They work hard to go far, their job involves risk, passing through that they have money for the rest of their lives.

Rolling on Money by Tristan Bedard

Professional athletes, the best of their category, people who devoted their lives to the sport they love yet, they're frowned upon because they're supposedly overpaid. Today's athletes are not overpaid for several reasons, they devoted their lives to the sport they practice , it's an all or nothing deal and, they've earned it.

Professional athletes have been practicing their sport since they were young, most of them started their career at a age of six, while the businessmen, engineers, entrepreneurs etc... started thinking about their career path at 18 years old. During their course of life, athletes didn't have much free time on their hands during their teenage years, they were all  to busy practising, training and making a reputation for themselves to get chosen by a team while the other teenagers were attending parties, having fun with their free time and not worrying about their future.

Athletes don't have stable careers, it's an all or nothing deal. You can have a injury that can end your career thus shutting down your money income. We all know that injuries happen very quickly because we have all suffered from them and they are even more common in sports. If you get injured on a normal job you still get paid while you rest at home and if you get injured as a professional athlete and you can't play anymore, no more cash for you. If you career has been ended by an injury as a athlete you have to restart your whole life again since you don't have much job experience.

To be honest, all professional athletes have earned it. They have been working hard their entire and they are always at risk. The amount of effort required to make it so far in life is huge. You are not only fighting for a place against players in your country but also worldwide. It's an extremely big gamble to take since if you don't succeed, you don't have much chances to prosper in being a pro player.

In conclusion, pro athletes are not overpaid because they devoted their life to the sport they love, it's an all or nothing deal and also they have earned respectfully.

Average Joes as Good as Pricey Clothes By: Christian Thibault

Raph Lauren, Hollister and Polo, all brand names that are highly priced though, is the brand worth the price. I believe that brand names such as Nike, Abercrombie and Fitch and other pricey brand names are not worth their market price. Brand names aren't worth the price because: you can get the same shirt without the brand, you become a walking advertisement and lastly, people appreciate average clothes just as much as brand names.

First of all, mostly, the difference between brand name clothing and normal clothing is the actual brand on the shirt. The biggest arguement made by people who are for brand names is that the quality is better but Faze.ca disagrees when they state that "most shirts, brand or not are made from 100% cotton and 100% cotton is 100% cotton". Another arguement is the comfortability of the shirt. People find as if brand name clothing are more comfortable. Although true, I still don't think that it's worth the price.

Second of all, when you buy you become a walking advertissement and I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to be that person. The biggest way brand names spread their merchandise is through other people. Clothing companies spread their merchandise through models wearing the clothes and looking good and so if you wear those clothes don't you become a walking bilboard? Losing my dignity and becoming a human bilboard is not worth the price.

Lastly, people appreciate you just as much without brand name clothing as they would if you had some. Brand name clothing is slowly starting to be a way to somewhat buy your dignity or a way to buy your way into a higher class of people. If society becomes this shallow over brand name clothing, it's not worth the price. And think of this, if someone only approches you or you only becomes friends with you only because of your clothing, do you really want them in your life?

In conclusion, there are many reasons why brand names aren't worth it in my opinion. The price, the quality and the after effects but that stays as my opinion. At the end of the day, the important thing is your opinion!
