All your life you've wanted this one thing,it's been something that you've always kept at the back of your mind and close to your heart, but it would take a leap of faith to get it. It could be a job in a different town to a hobby you want to try. Though you've never went for it due to the barriers that people around you have put up. Maybe you don't want to leave your mom for that job and your friends find that hobby stupid. This quote by Marianne Williamson reveals the truth about your biggest fear and why it shouldn't even be fearful. Williamson bluntly writes the hidden truth, solution, meaning to our problems in a paragraph. She reveals the fact that we should all just be ourselves, and that once the stigma of "not being normal" is released from our minds we can finally perspire and be our best most inspiring selves. I connected personally most to the line:" there is nothing enlightened about shrinking yourselves so other people won't feel insecure" witch is true, because if you are going to commit to truly being yourself you can't shrink your personality and brilliance for others comfort. Also the act of not shrinking yourself will eventually inspire others to be their best, brightest selves. When I think about this quote and in particular this line I think about the photo I took in British Colombia around a year and a half ago, because of what it represents to me. It was the first time I ever felt free of my problems and inspired as this quote has. Mostly because I was realizing who I wanted to be. I didn't have anyone to tell me," it's too far away" or "you have people who need you" etc. I had no barriers or boundaries. It represents me not shrinking.
This year our class will be working a lot with iPads. Each term students will post some of their written work - reflections, short stories, poems, critiques! We hope that you will follow-us this year!

Our deepest fear by Dwayne
Fear, a feeling everyone has already felt. But not any kind of fear, the fear of being yourself. That's what the quote "our deepest fear" by Marianne Williamson is all about. We are influenced by what think and say about us, but that isn't who we really are. Marianne use a simple line in her quote that say's "Who are you not to be" (referring to yourself), If I had to picture this quote it would be someone looking at himself in a mirror because if anyone else would look in the same mirror they wouldn't see the same as you did because there's only one "You". It's true that we are scared to be ourselves, we do it to be like everyone else or to fit in but wouldn't it be boring if everyone was the same?
Your playing small does not serve the world
Quotes were created to inspire people, to push them to their limitis and to support people in hard times. Just like the quote marianne created "your playing small does not serve the world". This is a quote used to inspire peiple that limits themselves. The meaning of this quote is simple, you should never limit yourself because you are scared of being judged, buT that you should show you're strenghts to the whole world. Usually, people limit themselves so that they won't get judge or even notice by others. Life is then easier but is that really how you want to live? I picture this quote like this, there you are in a crowd of people walking somewhere. Everyone including you is the same. You all walk in the same direction not knowing where you are going. There will be people asking question about where they are going and why but not you. You are just playing small and following the flow. You are not making any changes since you are scared of being wrong which is fine of being wrong. We are all humans and not perfect. But no body should hide their strenghts.

Our Deepest Fear by Florencia Flores Peña
We heart it |
As Marianne Williamson that show us in her quote "Our Deepest Fear" how we are afraid to show ourself, to show our talent, to show who we are and our talent. Especially the sentence: There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
Why we are afraid what other think about us? Because we were so often repressed either by our first teachers (our parents), then at school by our classmates and teachers, by the people around us.
We heart it |
We shekels judged at such a young age that we have forgotten how to live without fear that others say about us.
Mostly when is someone higher than us. Don't be afraid of who you are and show your talent and show your talent whatever it is.

Let Yourself Shine by Elizabeth Ratté
Many people have the same fear of showing off their talent. By limiting yourself, you take away some very good opportunities. People shouldn't be ashamed to be who they are. No one is limited to do anything and people are scared to show their strength.
As Marianne Williamson would say: who are you not to be? This means that anyone can be the person they want to be. It is not up to the world to decide the future of a person. They are the only one aloud to make that decision. The only way to being successful is to take risks in life and the image beside really shows this. No one wants to be different than the rest of the world. Everyone has that same fear of being looked at if they are different. I can connect to this because it is something that I feel. Being looked at by others or judged is not something that I would like to live. Everyone should let their selves shine. It will only make them happy.

classmates reactions, I was afraid that they thought I was showing off. I was pretending to be not good enough, like I always did, so that my talent would not surprise others, surprise myself. Or the other way round, make a fool out of myself. Before, I was too scared to tell myself what the real answer was, it was the appearance of a quote written by Marianne Williamson made the change.
The quote Our Deepest Fear is like a candle that light my world. It told me that we always lie to ourselves that we are not good enough. But actually, we are to powerful to be confident that we are powerful. Are we making the world a better place for anybody by hiding our talents? Or our friends know us and like us better? We learn things better? No. We are doing nothing good this way but restricting our strength and missing our opportunity. Free your talent and let it fly, do not fear about the reaction of others, just show it,because it is your talent, your best, your serve to the world. And you will find that the fear of people judging you causes by the unconfident of your talent is just an illusion. And what's more, you have the talent to free others' talents.

The picture came to my mind was in the darkness, many candles are shinning. Candles are meant to shine.it is their value, so how about us?
It was all this quote what made me think about all these, I wrote the first blog in my life for it. I am not sure if it is a good blog, but the thing I am sure is, if this time my English teacher asks me to present it to my class, I would.
Our Deepest Fear By: Thomas Drolet-Treambly
Our deepest fear is not of being scared of snakes or bugs. Our deepest fear is inside of us of who we truly are.Marianna Williamson was able to show what out deepest fear was just with here famous quote. The meaning of this amazing quote was that we need to believe in our selves and to always give our best and to succeeded. Like the part "it is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same." She is telling us to do our best cause if we do our best, others notice and want to succeeded like we do.
In her quote she is telling to be like kids and not be affraid and to saty who we truly are and not try to be someone else. kids are perfect they are not affraid of what you think about them they dont care they will dance and play around people might judge them but they wont care one bit. like she says we are all ment to shine and not try to hide how we try look like or aact like just to pleas others around you. Ichoose this picture cause it is a child holding the sun since it makes me think about how children are perfect and dont change there attitude around people to pleas them.

Fears to strengths: By Alexandre de Varennes
You're in a dark room. Spiders are crawling everywhere along with snakes. There are shadows lurking around and from time to time you'd hear an evil laugh. To many people, this is a scene that they would dread or fear about. Although not all fear is based off of horror. Some fears, such as in the quote "Our deepest fear" by Marianne Williamson, are more personal and affect us in our subconscious.
The quote "Our deepest fear" explains the meaning, never underestimate yourself and never hide your strengths. The meaning shows how you should never think you're not good at something because people all have their own strengths and weaknesses. People should show off their strengths, not their weaknesses. "...as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give others permission to do so." (Our deepest fear). Show off your strengths and others will follow. I chose the line, "We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?" (Our deepest fear). This line means that you shouldn't underestimate yourself, you have your strengths. The reason I chose this quote is because as a small child I was never confident about myself and I was wondering almost the exact things said in the part of the quote that I had chosen. As I grew up, I realized that I was unique in my own way and so I opened up and showed my strengths.
When I read the sentence I chose, I imagine an eight year old version of me sitting on the sidewalk in a black and white tone wondering to himself, who was he to be special. The reason for this image is because I had a lack of confidence as a child. Although, as I read on in the quote I imagined that little version of me get coloured in and his life gets turned around. He gets up and goes to see people who are in a depressed, sad or questionable black and white state and he brings colour to them. Only someone with colour or happiness can help the sad and colourless. I try to give people permission to shine. Now won't you join me to help show off our strengths?

Shrinking to Feel Secure,By:Laurie-Ann Poirier
Quotes are quotes, but this form of writing often leave us thinking. Quotes are usually a citation that someone puts in their text to make it more interesting. The quote “Our Deepest Fears” is not just a quote, it has a deep meaning. The line that best describes the message of being yourself no matter what is “There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you.” People should definitely read this quote; it could change their life and they could start being who they truly are.
This line is conveying to always be yourself and if people don't like who you are then you know they aren't real friends. Real friends are supposed to appreciate you for who you really are. When I imagine this line as a picture I see, a girl at school with her two friends bullying another girl, when she goes in the bus, the same girl that was bullying her is nice with her. I see this image because relating to the message of always being yourself no matter what the girl that was bullying didn't stay herself, instead she started bullying just too fit in. I see a lot of people changing themselves just too fit in. When I was younger the same ting happened to me, I got bullied but when they weren't with their friends they were nice and friendly.
It's very sad that people have to change themselves just too fit in, these people could be very nice. The quote “Our Deepest Fear” demonstrates this powerful meaning very well. People should definitely read this quote, it could change their lives; people could actually change and start being themselves.
My Realization and My Want to Change
By: Zoey Racine
Quotes; they are short or long phrases that are found everywhere around you, but there is more to them than that. Quotes aren't just posters to fill your empty walls or things we share on social medias to get more "likes" no, they are important moments of realization that inspire us to change. The following is the global meaning of the quote "Our Deepest Fear" written by Marianne Williamson that made me realize something important. The global meaning of the quote is to not base yourself on your weaknesses, base yourself on your strengths; because you shouldn't limit yourself. For example, the line that I chose from "Our Deepest Fear" is: "There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you". This means we make ourselves smaller for the sake of other people. I can personally relate to this line because as a teenager, I do limit myself, I talk more about my weaknesses than my strengths.

The global meaning of this quote is that we should not be afraid or shy of who you are and your personality, we should all show our strengths and shine. You are not fearful of people judging you if you do not judge yourself. If you can shine and show your strengths, then you do not fear of what people think about you, which not many people do.
Image From Google- Julius Caesar In Battlefield |
I am convinced that many more people should shine because it gives people a liberty and happiness, and shining is part of any individual if they wish do do so. For example, when I was smaller, I would shine and not be fearful of what people thought. Nowadays, things are different.
The line that stands out for me the most is "our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure". I believe that this could be connected to any great leaders in the history of mankind, such as Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar was a very powerful leader, the leader of the Romain Empire, but with great powers come great reponsibilities, which is the case for him. He had to do things right, or his biggest fear would come to his mind, the one of making a fool of himself by accident.
Image From Google- Rob Ford Gets Hit In The Face With A Camera |
In conclusion, our deepest fear is just being scared of something embarrassing or something bad happening to you, because of your power. But fear is simply your mind thinking or emagining what could go wrong or the worst possible thing that could happen to you in front of people, but it never happens. So, are you gonna let yourself shine?
A Useless Strength: Audrey Cantin
Is your strength weak? How would you know, if nobody`s ever seen it? The quote Our Deepest Fear written by Marianne Williamson, really sticks out. This quote reflects fears people could have. The meaning of this quote is that people fear of showing their light, they are afraid that their light is not good enough. For example a line from the quote "It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us". Light in the quote is reflecting the people`s strenght.. The meaning of that line expresses the meaning of the quote in general. People dont show their strenghts, so the good that spreads around the world isn`t the best it can be. The good spread out is from only the people who arent afraid to share their thoughts. Imagine if everyone shared their thoughts, the world would be so different and probably better. A picture I can see relating to the meaning of this quote, is somebody closing a door on oppurtunities. A door is opened for them but they close it because they`re scared. It frightens them to see what other people think of their strenght, so they close the door. How does it look if your strenght is weak? Feeling like the strongest part of you is not powerful. This what people are afraid of. People feel their strenght is useless, therefore they dont share it. Not sharing their strength is like being scared of judgement. Judgement is all about improving parts of you to be better. So by sharing your strength, you get to improve it and at least make it stronger.
Our Brightness Makes a Better World : By Allyson Fleming
It’s time to hop on stage and you're struck with fear. Why are
people so fearful when it’s the time to show who they are? Fear is inevitable.
It is a feeling and an emotion who people face every day. Fear is not real. It
is the product of thoughts we create. Fear is a choice. All hopes for a better
world rest in the hands of people who embrace who they are, just like the quote Our Deepest Fear by
Marianne Williamson says. The quote Our Deepest Fear communicates to the world that fear is only an

illusion. Our deepest fear is to express ourselves, to show people who we really are. It happens all over the world where people are
frightened to show their true selves and are scared to not be accepted. Not
being accepted is an awful feeling and still people think that by putting on a
mask and hiding their real soul they will get accepted. Just like Marianne Williamson says "We are all meant to shine as children do". People refuse to show their light to live in darkness. In reality does hiding really help the world? We all have qualities and we should be proud to show them. We are all different and that is what makes this world so beautiful. Shinning could have a powerful impact on the world, it could change it. This picture relates to this line for trying to let our light shine through our darkness. This silhouette tries to bring out it's light in other words it's strengths even if it's very difficult. When we’ll all understand that we are meant to shine, the world will be perfect. A perfect place out of the total dark. It's the shining light waiting to be found in all our hearts that will make this world better. It’s this perfectness that Marianne Williamson wants us all to find. It’s this perfect place where I would want to stand and not be worried to be judged. The place where I wouldn’t have to be someone else to please someone. It’s this new world where I’d be the true me and let my own light shine. It’s this very perfect place where we all wish we could be at, until we all make a change.
